Issues with Wiping(No funny business)LOL

Ok so i tried to wipe everything to install a new rom. Just wanted to start fresh. So I booted into recovery and wiped data/factory reset, davlik and sd. When i rebooted, fresh was still installed. All my programs were gone but the fresh boot screen still came up and the wallpaper and screens were back to stock but i still had the clear lockscreen and espresso bottom bar. So i also tried a different reset method, hold home+back and then power. Still fresh remainders were there. Any idea why i could not get everything to wipe?

because its like on an ipod ur just deleting data from ur phone not the actuall room "operating system" and ur glad u cant to it because if u did
that cud cause a brick of ur htc hero

So they only true way to go fully back to stock is to flash the stock rom that is on here?

wait...you wiped the dalvik cache in the recovery console and didn't get the wave of FC's?
