Failure to Push Files Properly.....

I'm receiving this error in the PreKitchen.

I've searched and found a few others who have had similar issues, however, everything that has been suggested, or that has worked for them, I have tried and failed.

Any ideas?

FWIW, this is what I've tried:

Rebooting computer
Rebooting Phone
check and uncheck "With Google"
I did NOT mount the SD card and I DID safely remove it from my computer (it automatically recognizes it when it's plugged in)
I have tried with HTC Sync running and with it closed (I have latest edition from HTC site, dl'd today)
I have the Kitchen patch

Can't think of what else, but I've tried it all.

anybody?

yep.

I've performed what I beleive to be all the "dummy checks" and still came up short.

I've read a few others having similar issues with no resolution.

that is what I'm trying to accomplish.

I run all the steps, do the diag. checks, check the "With Google" box (I've tried without it checked too) and hit Auto-Root and I get the "Failure to push files...." error every time.

So as of now, I am still unrooted

Try this procedure instead. Read before watching the video.

Re: Failure to Push Files Properly.....

I had to do the manual root instead of the 1 click method. I couldn't get the image files to push to my phone correctly.

Re: Failure to Push Files Properly.....

Here's an odd question, to which I believe I know the answer, but I'm hoping someone here can confirm:

I attempted the one-click auto-root (as described in the OP of this thread) and got the above referenced error. Because the files couldn't push, does that mean the phone has not been rooted at all? I realize this may be an odd question, but if the procedure doesn't complete, are there still some elements of the process that do complete? I'm not familiar with all the innerworkings of the programming behind this.

The reason I ask is because, after the debacle of trying to auto-root, I've actually decided to leave well enough alone and not root the phone. I don't use WiFi Tether, my phone is not really lagging (and when it does, i clear caches and it's back to normal) and I genuinely like it as is. That being said, I am just going to leave it and wait for the 2.1 update when it's officially released. My concern is that by attempting to root using the one-click method, even though the procedure didn't complete, is it going to cause any heartache when it's time to update the firmware?

I'm hoping someone with a pretty good knowlege of the programming side can answer. Not saying that everybody on here isn't knowlegable, but I'm hoping for a pretty solid detailed answer (for one, to have a piece of mind that it's ok, and for two, because I'm actually interested in the programming side and "how things work" so I'd love some good feedback).

Thanks guys/gals.

I could assist you with manual rooting if you are interested. We would need to speak via some type of chat program. PM me if you are interested.

You have been thanked!!

I truly appreciate the offer, and if I change my mind, I may take you up on it, but for the time being, I think I'm just going to keep it as is. Everything is working pretty nicely now, and I know with my luck I'll go and screw something up

Do you have any thoughts on my previous question as to if the unsuccessful root process had any effect on my device?
