Re: Failure to Push Files Properly.....

Here's an odd question, to which I believe I know the answer, but I'm hoping someone here can confirm:

I attempted the one-click auto-root (as described in the OP of this thread) and got the above referenced error. Because the files couldn't push, does that mean the phone has not been rooted at all? I realize this may be an odd question, but if the procedure doesn't complete, are there still some elements of the process that do complete? I'm not familiar with all the innerworkings of the programming behind this.

The reason I ask is because, after the debacle of trying to auto-root, I've actually decided to leave well enough alone and not root the phone. I don't use WiFi Tether, my phone is not really lagging (and when it does, i clear caches and it's back to normal) and I genuinely like it as is. That being said, I am just going to leave it and wait for the 2.1 update when it's officially released. My concern is that by attempting to root using the one-click method, even though the procedure didn't complete, is it going to cause any heartache when it's time to update the firmware?

I'm hoping someone with a pretty good knowlege of the programming side can answer. Not saying that everybody on here isn't knowlegable, but I'm hoping for a pretty solid detailed answer (for one, to have a piece of mind that it's ok, and for two, because I'm actually interested in the programming side and "how things work" so I'd love some good feedback).

Thanks guys/gals.
