Why is the resolution less than the previous Diamond?

I have the Diamond, I am probably getting the Hero.

Diamond 2.8" . 480x640
Hero 3.2" 320x480

I think I'm missing something

Re: Why is the resolution less than the previous Diamond?

Yes, the hero has a lower resolution than the diamond. And yes, there is a noticeable difference between the two devices. Things on the hero are definitely more pixilated. And there is no reason the hero has to have a better screen. The diamond and hero are totally different phones. The diamond is a windows mobile device and the hero is an android device. The hero is not the "upgrade" to the diamond. The diamond2 is the upgrade to the diamond, but sprint decided not to carry the device.

Re: Why is the resolution less than the previous Diamond?

Ya I say screw it.. I loved the diamond and i love my hero atm.. every phone has its faults.. It would be nice to have a bigger screen and rez.. but this is what sprint and htc gave us atm. give it a year there will be something better out by then...

I see nothing wrong with the hero screen size or rez..it works for me..

U gotta find what works for u and be happy.. to many people these days like to grip and complain bout this and that.. do your homework and enjoy whatever carrier and phone u get.. but dont be negative..lol

You really won't miss the resolution.

More pixels means slower phone.

Ya its not like the Hero's screen is bad at all. Its still very bright and vibrant. I would say go to a sprint store and play with one.

Re: Why is the resolution less than the previous Diamond?

I was skeptical ofthe lower resolution of the Hero before I switched over. I loved the VGA screen on my Diamond, and it was the best feature of the phone.

After owning a Hero for about a month, I have to say that the screen is the only advantage the Diamond has over the it. The Hero is superior in every other way, making it a lot easier to ignore the lower res screen.

So just because the Diamond resolution is bigger, what does that mean? Images and videos look better on the Diamond?

Re: Why is the resolution less than the previous Diamond?

Well alittle cleaner i would say..or rather more defined....(sharper)

But honestly between the 2 I dont really notice that much.. the same with the diff between the pre and the hero.. only noticed a slight diff.. even though your comparing what like 16 million colors to 65,000..lol < or something like that.. I really dont care.. Im really enjoying my hero to much to notice other phones right now.....
