Still can not flash to stock

Is anyone else having problems flashing there Hero with the stock RUU.
I am sending my phone off to get fixed and whenever I try the RUU it sees my phone, connects to it and then when it reboots to it and trys to connect to the "bootloader", my phone just freezes on the htc screen and then the RUU times out...

Is there a fix for this, am i doing something wrong?

Re: Still can not flash to stock

Put your phone in fast boot by holding volume down then then pressing power. Connect usb cable and run the rui while still in fast boot.

Re: Still can not flash to stock

hopping on this thread and question, I'm going in to Best Buy or a repair center in a few minutes. My mic is messed up so they'll more than likely see that and just replace the phone or mic. Think they'll notice a ROM change and trip about it? I mean it is a hardware issue.

Yes. If you created one right after you rooted and right before you flashed a custom rom, it will take you back to stock root.
