i use handcent sms for my sms and mms

is there a way to STOP hide the notifications in the upped left hand side


also any way to make the icon show up on the handcent icon like it happens on the name

Yes. Open Handcent, click on menu, settings, scroll down to notification settings, click on it, click on show unread number to show number on icon.
to remove notification from status bar menu, settings scroll down uncheck notifications.
