Awake time... Save that battery!

What is awake time?

Awake time is the interval of time that your device is "active" with processing, open programs, etc even with the screen off. (The device is not allowed to "sleep" and effectively conserve battery at this point)

Go to Menu/Setting/About Phone/Status/ and scroll to the bottom. You will see (2) important values...

Up Time - The interval of time your device has been powered on since last reset.

Awake Time
- The interval of time during Up Time that your device has not been "asleep" and is actively processing, etc.

I have been testing many open apps/processes to determine which works best while still allowing the device to sleep. I use Advanced TaskManager by Aaron La as it has many useful features (auto-close, shake to end, etc) With only providers.htccdma placed in the exclusion list and from a 100% charge, I currently have:

Up Time: 26:08:31 (thats hr:min:sec)
Awake: 2:16:34 (9%)
Battery @ 49%

With usage consisting of:

Moderate phone use
Heavy game use (Armored Strike)
Moderate/Heavy music use (MixZing)
Very frequent clock viewing

This configuration still allows messaging/email/phone calls to come in without delay as well as alarm clock flawlessly ringing while allowing the phone to "sleep" and conserve battery life.

Hope this helps someone...

How is your Task Killer currently setup? Auto kill? And do you have any exclusions?
