Yes, App Installer would work. I prefer to avoid unnecessary software - it's just as easy if not easier to do adb push. I thought you might have access to adb but maybe not the app installer where you are. Doesn't matter, though, was just offering just in case

I think you'll be happy with Sprint Nav though. It works well.
Well i can download the apk from my email if you would like to send it and i can try installing with App installer.

Oh and dont i feel like an idiot, I didnt even realize i wrote diamond. Ha ha!!!! Ill shoot you a pm with my email if you wanna send me that APK. Thanks.

Re: Turn by Turn Options

Ok i think there was a bit of confusion, when i said app installer, I was refering to the App Installer program in the market. I downloaded it but havent used it yet.

Re: Turn by Turn Options

I used CoPilot on my Touch Pro 2 and loved it! I've recently been fighting with support to get my license transferred over to the Android version so I wouldn't have to pay another $34.99. In the meantime I tried out Sprint Navigation and I LOVE it! Much better than the TP2 version. CoPilot still LOOKS better graphically but I think Sprint Nav works just as good if not better and includes traffic and all that good stuff whereas you have to pay extra every year to get that on CoPilot.

I just got the email that I will be able to use my license on my Hero now without paying any extra so I will get that installed and test it out. I still see myself using Sprint Nav now that I have tried it and it's free to me now (since I had to switch off of my SERO plan).

Re: Turn by Turn Options

Well, I downloaded the apk you emailed me and tried using the App installer installed on my phone but it errors out and says Sprint Navigation cannot be installed on my phone. Oh well, thanks for the help. Ill just wait til i get home.

EDIT: Weird, it installed it anyway. Looks to be working too. Lol

Re: Turn by Turn Options

Waze - routes pretty bad and doesn't have a great map yet haha, I agree with you.

Sprint Navigation - Very nice but takes forever to load, I feel like I'm on a ps1 haha.

I have not tried any others but I heard a new one was coming soon, I just can't remember what it was... Can't wait to try out Google Maps Nav.

Oh. Dunno about the App Installer program. I definitely wouldn't use it - your phone can install APKs itself.

But system APKs should not be installed that way - they should either be pushed directly to /system/app or you should use the Fresh Pre-Kitchen's Stock App Installer.

Re: Turn by Turn Options

I just used CoPilot for a trip to Orlando from Louisiana. It worked as well as any GPS unit I've used before. I found Sprint Nav and Google maps useless since they required the data connection. Whenever data was slow those apps would slow down and lag. CoPilot worked regardless obviously with the maps downloaded to the SDCard. It would re-route quickly if you missed a turn. Great app.

Yeah, i see your point with the quickness. I just dont see myself forking out more money since i already paid for tom tom on my diamond. I guess one day ill break down, hopefully not before google nav.
