Anyways, if you could help get me in the right direction to make the flip transparent, I'd be stoked.

I would looooooove to know how to extract the png's from an apk and repackage it. I would owe you at LEAST 1000000 high fives(thats like 5000000 ones) if you could show me.

Open the .apk with winrar and pull the res folder and modify the .png files then drag the res folder back to the .apk file the push it back to the phone
adb push .apk system/app or system/framework

1. Once the .apk file is on your computer, use a utility (like Total Commander for PC) to change the .apk extension to .zip.

2. Extract the .zip file into a empty folder to contain the contents

3. Inside you should see a "res" folder. This will likely contain several Layout, 320x480, etc folders.

4. Find the desired images and edit but do NOT remove any images. There may be a manifest which would require the files by name to be in the .apk package.

5. Once complete, Repackage everything back into a .zip

6. Change the extension of the .zip back to .apk and rename the .apk the name of the original.

7. Resign it.

8. Use the previously explained method to transfer it to your phone.

Note: Remember that you will have to remove the original from your phone or the installation will fail citing it already exist. Good luck!

I modified a few .apk and I did not have to resign just push the .apk back to the phone and everything took.

I think if you use the .apk from the rom that you are using you do not need to resign it.

Re: Market Apps, Experiences, & Pics *Updated 12/29/09*

Is anyone having issues installing HTCLockscreen.apk? I keep on getting this error message:
pkg: /data/local/tmp/HtcLockScreen.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_UNEXPECTED_EXCEPTION]

XweaponX can you share your default lock?

Re: Market Apps, Experiences, & Pics *Updated 12/29/09*

The lockscreen seen in the pics group is the default lock after you remove Htc.Lockscreen.apk. Please soft-reset after removal. You will lose the music controls through lockscreen but it is negligible to me.

Some of the .apks are nothing more than enhancements similar to like Message Enhancement for HTC Manila. Removal frees up extra space and reduces cpu usage...
