1. Once the .apk file is on your computer, use a utility (like Total Commander for PC) to change the .apk extension to .zip.

2. Extract the .zip file into a empty folder to contain the contents

3. Inside you should see a "res" folder. This will likely contain several Layout, 320x480, etc folders.

4. Find the desired images and edit but do NOT remove any images. There may be a manifest which would require the files by name to be in the .apk package.

5. Once complete, Repackage everything back into a .zip

6. Change the extension of the .zip back to .apk and rename the .apk the name of the original.

7. Resign it.

8. Use the previously explained method to transfer it to your phone.

Note: Remember that you will have to remove the original from your phone or the installation will fail citing it already exist. Good luck!
