A few questions before making the switch

Hi Ya'll,
I've been on a WinMo phone with Sprint for the past few years. I'm fixin to make the switch to a droid phone since Sprint isn't currently offering a top end phone w/o a keyboard.
Here's a few questions I'd like to have answered before commiting:

1. Will it sync contacts, calendar, and tasks with Thunderbird (Firefox/Mozilla)?
I have T-bird on my PC and I'm happy with it. I don't really want to switch to gmail, since it's website based. I currently use Birdiesync on my WinMo phone to do the syncing.

2. This is prolly a dumb question, but are the Android phones capable of running multiple apps at the same time?

I feel like my hero is a top end phone.

I haven't tried syncing with firefox. If you don't want to do syncing over the internet then why do you use Birdiesync? I don't understand.

Yes they are.

I guess I should've said a top end WinMo phone w/o a keyboard. Plus I've seen rumors involving an Android phone with a snapdragon processor in 1Q 2010. But I'm not sure who will carry it.

Birdiesync runs with Active Sync when you plug into the PC. What I meant by Internet based was the fact that you have to open your browser and go to a website to view your mail, calendar, etc. Unlike T-bird or Outlook that run separately from your browser. < Hope that makes sense.

what it comes down to for syncing is where is your host at. your tbird pulls its emails from somewhere. u can prbly export your contacts also. then use the htc program to sync the contacts

Top end Android w/ tactile QWERTY keyboard - Samsung Moment.

Also, the "rumor" you have heard is of Googles "Vision" of a phone to be released. No one knows much about it other than it has the wonderful snapdragon processor, it's googles vision of what a phone should be, and their is a lot of advertising blocked out in January for it. We also have heard a rumor that Sprint might be being acquired by Google in order to roll out the new Google phone.
