Product review: Sprint Hero Silicone Gel cover

Sprint Silicone Gel Cover
Price: $19.99+tax
Premier Customer Discount: 25%
Includes one black and one blue gel cover

The gel cover fits over the phone snugly, and the fit is perfect. The case is soft, yet durable and has a textured surface for grip. The cutouts for the mini usb and 3.5mm jack are large enough to allow for aftermarket headphones and adapters. The volume slider is raised and still very easy to use. The skin does not seem to make the phone feel large like some skins do. The Hero still fits into my holster case. The only downside I have seen so far is that the case picks up lint. I am guessing this will fade as the case gets used a bit. Overall, a great way to protect your Hero.

Re: Product review: Sprint Hero Silicone Gel cover

Nice review! I just ordered one from the Sprint store today. They didn't say it came with two though, they asked which one I wanted and I picked black, so hopefully they didn't rip me off for a blue case. Either way, I tried it in the store and it did fit well, and this silicone didn't seem as sticky as some of the other cases I've seen. I also like that it covers the edges of the screen, so between that and the Best Skins Ever skin maybe I won't get dust issues!

The Sprint store didn't have any in stock? Weird.

Re: Product review: Sprint Hero Silicone Gel cover

I know! I guess they sold a lot of them. When I ordered mine today most everyone in the store was there for a Hero thing. One guy was explaining to his buddy how awesome it was, one lady was getting her email setup and another lady was having them do the SMS tweak/hack.

SMS tweak? 3rd party program, or is there a fix?

No, 3rd party app. I guess they were setting Handcent to default and pulling the battery and all that stuff. From what I've read it may or may not even stick but more power to her for being an informed customer.

And thanks doc, loving it actually!

In time, I am sure we will have more options. The phone has only been out for a little over a month, we are doing alright IMO.
