So you can't like carrier unlock it to work on sprint ?

the is some overlap on phones that support more bands than just the ones their carrier uses. im not sure on the iphone but i do know some work. unfortuntley i have an unlocked HD2 on ATT but cannot get 3g

You can't jump ship with US GSM, they use different frequencies (per my earlier post

) ..you will get calls and text but edge data

for example, the samsung vibrant (tmobile) will work for ATT (including 3G) when its unlocked
