Benefits of custom ROM?

Hi guys, I'm a brand new HD2 owner. I switched over from the Nexus One. So far, I am impressed with this phone. Being a former Nexus One owner, I have experience rooting the phone and loading custom ROMs. Which leads me to my question, are there any significant benefits of loading a custom ROM onto the HD2? Other than having more customizable options, are there any real speed differences ect.?

There are loads of new features and benefits plus having a custom rom enhances speed, GPS timing...basically everything on the phone. XDA developers is a great site to start for finding HD2 roms, HTCpedia is also a good site. I would learn how to flash a rom which I'm sure won't be a problem if you've rooted your N1.

This is everything you need to know about how to flash

I'd recomend energy rom to start with, the home screen alone and it's ability to be customized is sure to impress.

Re: Benefits of custom ROM?

Thank you for your informative response. If there are indeed speed improvements, then I'm definitely on board with flashing a different ROM. Thanks a bunch!
