Re: Keep VZW TP2 or swith to TMo and HD2????

And if you try EnergyROM you'll be even happier. I was happy with the stock ROM, but moving to EnergyROM...just like moving to EnergyROM back when I had a Touch Pro. Makes a good thing even better.

Careful if you go using HSPL and flashing the ROM, because unlike the CDMA Touch Pros, you CAN BRICK your device if you don't do it right. Here's instructions I used. And I'm sure you know you get no warranty support while running custom and HSPL.

Re: Keep VZW TP2 or swith to TMo and HD2????

Glad to see it worked out for you. Give the T-mo 3g time and it will get better. They are working very hard to catch up to the other carriers as they know their data coverage is the smallest of the 4 major carriers. As new towers go up and existing ones get upgraded they all are being setup for 3g as well as HSPA+.

Re: Keep VZW TP2 or swith to TMo and HD2????

I would not say that I am 100% satisfied with tmo yet. I just got off the phone with their tech support trying to see what the problem might be, and they could not find the problem. Even tried something offline that I had to remove the battery to reset the phone (as someone mentioned was done for them earlier), but that did not help me at all. The tech told me something that makes sense, but also makes me think hmmmmmm! I was told that my problem could be caused if the nearest cell tower ran out of 3G connections available. Well that don't sound reassuring for a service offering to a new customer.

While on the phone with the tech, my signal strength was all over the place. 1 or 2 bars of 3G (when I would even get it), 2 - 3 bars of Edge, then out of the blue I would get 1 - 2 bars of "H", whatever that might be. And all during this time my VZW TP2, laying right next to the HD2, was at a solid 4 bars of 3G.

The only saving grace at home is that my U-Verse wifi works great. I have not given up on the HD2 yet, but this sure does not impress me with tmo's capabities.
