Re: Just got my HD2 :)
So, update- I got my HD2, for EIGHT DOLLARS. Yes, 8 bux. They gave me $142 for my TP2, and the guy said my phone was the highest trade in he's ever had, and the most pristine, lol... I guess my obsession with cases and screen protectors has finally paid off. I felt kinda bad trading the ol' girl in though, I hope she goes to a good home *sniffle*
As for the service- so far the T-mo service is way better than Sprint's. I'm shocked too, I was prepared to deal with worse service just to have this phone, but I'm really pleasantly surprised! The data speeds are faster, and I now have full signal at my house, where I struggled to get one or 2 bars before with Sprint. My calls aren't going straight to voicemail anymore, I can actually ANSWER without having to wait 10 seconds for it to pick up, and the call quality is much clearer. I wish I'd have switched sooner, honestly, and I take back ALL the shit I ever talked about GSM. Codybear- I was initially planning to go for the EVO, so I got myself a Hero to see if I could deal with Android. But after about 36 hours, I reactivated my TP2. I could not stand Android, it frustrated the hell out of me & it's a downgrade from WM, IMO. Yeah, there's lots of apps, but the battery life was terrible & I couldn't find satisfactory replacements for my essential programs. It seems so SIMPLE too. I don't like that. I like having a registry & a million menu options. Android almost felt like- dare I say it- a dumbphone OS. Don't get me wrong, its a nice OS, but its way too barebones for me. One of my friends is planning to get the Evo though, and I'm curious to see how it stacks up to the HD2. He's an Apple fanboi- Macbook pro & an iMac at home, Apple TV, and an iPhone to boot, and I've made it my personal mission to convert him to WinMo. So far this phone is everything I thought it would be, and then some. This is the device that I have been designing in my mind for the past few years, sans a tiny trackball or joystick. I still really miss having a D-pad, my old Mogul really spoiled me. This phone is seriously amazing though. It's so huge!!! It's practically a small tablet. This is exactly what I've been wanting. The only gripes I have so far are the micro-usb port(I had to buy a new car charger, *grumble*), and the battery capacity. 1230 mAh makes me nervous. Why HTC decided to downgrade the battery, I will never understand. But I AM the queen of battery life though, so I'm sure it'll be okay. So, to sum things up, I have my JesusPhone now, so be prepared to see my ugly mug in here a lot from now on

Link doesn't seem to work anymore. I myself am using ghost armor for protection until an otterbox is available. Keeps from getting smudges on the screen as well as the whole phone is covered with a heavy duty screen protector. |

Re: Just got my HD2 :)
Howdy!
Congrats on your good deal! I paid the full 200, oh well, I did pick up a car DC to USB converter and just plug my cable into that ($15). A side note, these HD2's come with the "gorilla screens". The T-mobile rep took his keys and rubbed them back and forth on the screen, not one scratch. There is also some youtube video's showing people doing the same on their HD2's with razor blades and stuff. Good grief! they sure are making these screens harder then the old plastic covered ones! Well enjoy your phone! |

Kabuk1,
They don't come with screen protectors; the term "gorilla screen" means that the original screen is very very scratch resistant. |
