Re: Hd2 tweaks

Woohoo, I fixed it! I found a little reg hack over at XDA to fix the speaker icon issue.

Delete the following keys from HKLM/Software/HTC/VolumeOverlay:

LoadIconFromResDLL
SoundIconLink

I just did this and my speaker icon is fine now. Didn't even have to uninstall my taskbar.

Max, great post that has invaluable tweaks! I used a few of these and they helped a lot. But I now suddenly started to have a weird problem. I used the cabs to add color to the phone skin and call history as well as the one to lessen the screen sensitivity (for the keyboard), and now when I make a phone call none of the buttons on the dialer screen respond to touch anymore. I am not even able to end the call unless I use the actual physical hard button (red phone) to end the call. Would anyone have an idea on how to fix this, or which cab to uninstall?

Thanks!

try the to uninstall the sensitivity one
as for the call history one has nothing to do with that

Rocky, I had the same problem with the screen sensitivity thing a few days ago. I was on the phone with the IRS & had to press one for english & couldn't bring up the keypad at all. Do you have BSB Tweaks installed by any chance? I found out that the issue was that I had the screen sensitivity thing enabled AND the hack to increase the tapping time. The tap time thing was the culprit. I disabled it & no more problems.

Re: Hd2 tweaks

Thank you both! That solved the problem.I had both the bsb and the cab installed. Removing the cab and just using the bsb worked.

Now have only two more problems left to fix, and then this phone is near perfect :) First is if I could get better signal from TMo (rarely get 3G in my own apt, have to use my AT&T U-Verse wifi), next is to find a case to FIT the phone. The gel
skin that comes with the phone collects a ton of lint if I carry it in my pocket, turning grey LOL

Finding a case should be easy enough soon as companies begin to catch up start making them. But the lack of a good, solid 3G signal in my apt will be a deal breaker. My VZW TP2 right next to my HD2 has 3-4 bars of 3G, yet my HD2 strugles just to maintain 2-3 bar wa of Edge. The only saving grace is that my HD2 is the first phone I have had that works great with my wifi router, and gets awesome speeds online. Only problem with that is the massive battery drain. Oh well :(

try changing radios as some radios have better signal then others

I was thinking about that when I saw a post on here with 3 different radios. But which one should I try? On my device, it shows Radio: 2.08.50.08_2.

The 3 listed radios on here are:
Leo_RADIO_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08 **(from TMOUS 2.09 & 2.10)
Leo_RADIO_15.33.50.07U_2.07.50.27 **(from TMOUS 2.07)
Leo_RADIO_15.29.50.07U_2.06.50.04 **(from TMOUS 2.02)

Now I have flashed my VZW TP2 a number of times, so not too afraid of messing around with that. But on XDA Developers, where I need to get the HardSPL program, there is a lot of stuff on there confusing me and I don't want to brick this HD2 in case I decide to not keep it (over my TP2 and the better signal strength of VZW). Especially the warning about not flashing to a Leo1024, what version of SPL on my phone currently (mine has SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE), having to reflash back to an OEM ROM if you want to send back under warranty, etc . . . . . . So this time I am totally confused. Sorry :(

All 3 of those radios can be used according to the thread, they are all from TMOUS HD2. As far as which works best, that depends upon your location so you would have to test each and see what works best for you. Before you try a new radio you need to unlock the phone. Your SPL line should be 2.08.hspl if it is unlocked.

Definitely try to install all those radios and see what works best for you. I think you have a lot to gain since you live in an area that's on the fringe of 3G connection. Might save you a ton of battery life when you find the right radio.

Thanks all, and as I found the correct HSPL program to use, I will test these shortly.

Now have yet another strange problem. I cannot click on the clock to change or add new locations/time zones. Any idea of which cab I might want to try, or uninstall from the list of tweaks I only used from here? Thanks much!!!

Re: Hd2 tweaks

Ok, I just flashed Leo_RADIO_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08 and will test that out for a day or two first. Odd though, my original radio was 2.08.50.08~2, and this new shows as 2.08.50.05??? Even more odd, though the phone shows I am in E (Edge?) mode, it does load web pages in Opera much faster than before. Hmmm.
