p.s. love htc not tryin to hate
It's all about the hardware. The software is mostly what everyone else has already been running with custom roms.

Yes it's humongous (notice the spelling ) but incredibly thin. The screen is 800*480 which is about the best resolution you can get today. But given how large it is (4.3 inches diagonal), the pixel density is much lower than for instance a Diamond which has a 2.8 inch screen at 640*480. The math is plain to see.

What phone you choose is up to you. Buy it if you like it, don't buy it because of the hype. That's what the jesusphone is for.

Also - the task manager is easily added, takes a few seconds. That's just for the default one. There are plenty of other options that more finger-friendly as well if you're so inclined.

I don't recommend this phone for anyone that's not a compulsive tweaker or power user, which you don't seem to be based on my (admittedly limited) first impression.

PS - Not trying to hate

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

i do like to tweak n flash but im not psycho bout it try everything once...but besides the point. not trying to be judgemental here...but...seems a little like a waste of phone (kinda like the instinct hd but not as bad). not looking for ppl to bash my opinion and not trying to be convinced to buy one (not happening) just would like for someone to explain the positives and the why would i buy this factor. i guess from a sales perspective who is my target? blind ppl who need a giant screen? (lol sorry but i had to say it). i liked the live wallpaper and yes...any htc product is deemed quality in my book but i must admit i am perplexed as to the idea behind production. Did the designers get drunk one night and say hey....i have an idea...lets make it huge! bigger is better! the software is pretty much whats already out there on other phones...so i guess my overall question is WHY?

I went from a 6700 to the Touch to the TP2, and I have come to realize that when I browse the web on my phone, the bigger the screen, the better the experience. So if I can fit a 4.3" screen sized device into my front pocket, I want it! Although I think I am going to stick with Sprint and wait for the Supersonic.

That was pretty difficult to read without any punctuation and the poor spelling, so I barely skimmed it.

Again, the answer is simple - biggest possible screen in the most efficient form factor with the smallest bezel and least wasted space. The most powerful processor and highest amount of usable memory in ANY smartphone today. Sounds like an easy win to me. What exactly is it that you're trying to be convinced of if it's not to buy one? I don't get it..

PS - If the "live wallpaper" is the 1 highlight that stands out for you, this is definitely not the right choice for you Good luck!

read next time instead of skimming. i didnt use capital letters, wow. i abbreviated people as ppl but what was misspelled???<punctuation! i stated "from a sales perspective". meaning, i sell phones...duh! not trying to make a choice...hm...sprintgirl not t-mobilegirl. obviously on sprint. it is my job to know the competition and is the reason i am learning about this device at all. aside from the processor i dont get the idea behind development. and said i liked the live wallpaper, not that it was the #1 highlight.

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

im sorry your service sucks there. i have great service in most my area and my test have brought me consistent 1mbps. through wifirouter i was getting 800 kbps. so the speeds are good. the stock tmobile rom is pretty good on it. the one thing im not liking so far is battery life. that screen sucks up that battery but luckily i can charge at work and anywhere im at. it is without a doubt though a fantastic gorgoeous phone.

Re: HD2 I'm not sold...

Im buying this phone because of the hardware it has. I always wanted a phone with the biggest screen possible since I use it mainly for the web.
