Re: Pros and Cons of Evo Shift

A pro of the Shift is that I'm now rooted running at a totally stable 1.51 GHz!

I came from the TP2 and I'm absolutely in love with my shift, it's a fantastic phone and a perfect replacement for the TP2. I'm not all that interested in all of the "superphones" that are coming out now, I don't want a dual core or any of that BS until we have a new type of battery to use.

The reason it's still $200 is because it's one of their world phones that is also sim unlocked from stock. I still have mine a backup and use when I go out of country. With a custom rom this phone is still great. Also this phone still sells on ebay for over $160.

I completely agree. We haven't had a significant advancement in battery technology in far too long. I think we're due.

Re: Pros and Cons of Evo Shift

You can overclock it to 1.8 GHz if you want to but for now I think 1.51 is plenty haha. Some people have their G2's up over 2 GHz and still stable. This processor really is just a beast, don't let the stock clock speed fool you! I'll include one of SetCPU showing the speed and also my score in Quadrant, I think you'll like that one

Err... I guess that's 1.52 if I round correctly. Kernel was labeled 1.51 haha who's counting anyway?

Re: Pros and Cons of Evo Shift

You can use it as your primary, there are separate apps for g-mail and all other accounts. The only reason I have a g-mail account is to access the market and so I can sync my contacts and calendar, i use another account for mail.

Re: Pros and Cons of Evo Shift

I probably just me. I feel the android OS phone drain the battery very quickly. I have the epic and the gf has the shift. Both of them seem don't have a good battery usage. I did use some of the android market program to help kill some of the services occupied the RAM, which enough to let battery carry through a day but not the second. The funny thing is that I did a few short phone calls and browsing the web for a minutes in the morning and it still shows 90% of the battery. When I close all the programs and kill most of the of background services. When it was 11pm, then phone crying for charging the battery. As for other UI, I feel it is much much smoother as compare to tp2.
