PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

Can someone tell me WHY when I go and click on PEOPLE, I dont see al my contacts, yet I can click SEARCH and I can find all of them?? I am connected to an exchange server and it syncs my contacts with that.. HOWEVER, when I go into people and the VIEW to select what I want to view, it doesnt give me a choice to see the exchange contacts.. the only think checked is ON PHONE and it shows that there are 0 contacts, so I dont know where it is getting the contacts from.. I can, see the numbers f contacts if I go into groups or if I search for a specific person that didnt show up on PEOPLE just by scrolling through the list. any ideas???

Thanks..

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

Just figured out that if I assign all contacts to a group, then they show up in PEOPLE.. WHY??? I never had to specifically add them to a group before? I made a group called MY CONTACTS, added all of them to it and now I see them when I scroll through the people app.

is this normal?? is something wrong??

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

ok i think thats normal because u made a group called contact n put all your contacts there.. so ur phone doesnt show ur contacts because theyre in a group. intead of the default option. u shoouldnt do dat in the first place theres no reason to made a group called as the same as the app.. well u can go to people/view and just check the one u want to b shown..

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

Which ROM are you running? Are you sure that all your contacts are input into your Google account contacts and not some as Google and some as phone contacts? I would suggest going through each one and making sure they are input as Google contacts, which might take a while if you have a lot of contacts, they should all show up if you go to people no matter what ROM you are using to my knowledge.

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

I don't use an Exchange Server, but I had that same issue... then I logged into gmail.com on my computer and noticed it was putting some contacts in "Other Contacts" for some reason. I moved them into the "My Contacts" folder and they showed up on my phone.

Good luck figuring it out...

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

I had the same problem today. In the past I had the option to VIEW -> Exchange contacts, but that has been removed (Gingerbread update maybe?). Without the long story I cleared all my contacts hoping it would re-sync with the Exchange server and found that the contacts wouldn't show unless I searched for them. I returned to my Outlook and put all my contacts into one of the GROUPs that was on my phone. Everyone in my OUTLOOK CONTACTS went into "Co-workers" and after a sync everyone showed up in my phone's PEOPLE program. For some reason they're information was synced to my phone before (APPLICATIONS listed me having 15.3MB of Contacts) but weren't showing up. Putting them in categories/groups corrected the issue.

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

I have fought with this issue using an EVO and my personal hotmail account. I have found success though doing the following:

- Using your PC go to hotmail and delete any distribution lists/groups (also known as 'categories' in hotmail speak) that you have configured in your Contacts. This will not delete the contacts in them.

- On your Droid go to Manage Apps->Contacts Storage->press Clear Data

- On your Droid go to Settings->Accounts & Sync and remove any other Exchange accounts you have configured using any mail clients. Your Google account is fine and doesn't need to be removed.

- On your Droid open your Contact list and make sure it is now in fact empty

- Wait 15 minutes. I don't know why, but sometimes it takes 5 and sometimes it takes 10 minutes for this "fix" to come down from Hotmail. I've done this so many times exactly the same way I could do it in my sleep and I can't tell you why but some times it takes a few minutes. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes.

- Re-add your Hotmail account on the Droid before any of the other accounts you deleted

- Go to Settings->Accounts & Sync and fire off the first sync of your Contact list

Hopefully this will work as well for you as it always does for me.

Happy sync'ing

Re: PEOPLE NOT SHOWING ALL CONTACTS

I don’t have this phone anymore but it’s pretty much the same on the E3D and the ELTE.
The simplest way is that when you go to people, hit menu. Somewhere in the options you should see Google account, Phone and Facebook if you have that set up.
Under the Google account, you will see a drop down box. Make sure all groups are checked.
