any progress for 2.3.3 root?

So my evo finally had problems when the battery expanded (thanks to the las vegas weather) and i had to take it into sprint. They gave me a new evo with 2.3.3! sprint finally did something right, but it still came back to bite my in the ass because I currently can't find anything for a new evo 2.3.3 root. This post was to find out the progress made....

So does anyone know of a working method? (Goodluck devs!)

- sorry if this is a repost of any sort.

Could you try flashing the 2.2 rru and then rooting from there?

No working methods right now anywhere. You cant downgrade to then upgrade either. XDA had hints of maybe getting it but so far there is a temp S-off that hasnt been published so no one can say for sure if this is a first step to getting root. I have 3 phones that have been rooted and now my step sons new one is 2.3.3 so Im checking everyday to see.

Re: any progress for 2.3.3 root?

As others have stated, the 2.3.3/4 Evo's are currently stuck without a root method.

I am sure in time it will be done though, so don't give up hope buddy.

On a side note, even though this question has been beaten more times then Whitney Houston,
I like how we here at PPCGEEKS just simply answer the question without being rude.

That is why I love this place and it is my favorite Mobile Device forum.
