I am looking at taking my EVO to the repair center but wanna make sure that there is no signs of rooting. I am running the latest OTA with Hboot 2.16 with S-on. I am going format my sd card.....anything else I need to do?

Re: Repair Center

You should be fine with that, most techs probably have their phone rooted anyway. As long as you flashed back to stock ROM and have s-on you are straight. What kind of problems are you having?

Re: Repair Center

I have noticed that sometimes when I want to turn off my phone is just turn off the display it wont acknowledge my pressing the button. Also I get random restarts prob once a day.

Re: Repair Center

I did the same thing with putting S-On and taking the OTA update, but for some reason SuperUser stayed on the phone and that's the only thing that I can find that someone would notice that I was rooted at one time, tried lots of things to get it off but once you are S-On and take the OTA update there is no way to get if off that I have found, so if you are doing that and don't want any signs of root make sure that you don't leave that on there.

Also I would make a back-up of your sd card and just transfer everything off and not just delete or format your card because one of these days we will get root again for the new OTA, hopefully lol, seems like so long ago that I was rooted <was like two weeks ago>.

Trust me if you call in to tech support they can see the rom you are running, I had one tech tell me that it might be my Evolved Rom and that I might not have the latest radio/PRL/PRI and all that jazz, I was surprised to hear him say that he could see what rom I was running.
