Not dwell on this but my phone was rooted. I RUU'd the stock rom and accepted the OTA update..yet my bootloader stayed S-Off..that's how it went down and the steps I posted are how I reverted back to CM6.1.2. That was my experience. I didn't come up with the fix on my own, that's why I posted the links to the threads where I got help with the issue from XDA..The only point I'm trying to make is that by updating to the new OTA 2.3.3 rom (via Sprint, not flashed) doesn't 100% make your phone unrooted. It just doesn't because I did it. I understand that the OP may have never been rooted, and this won't help him, but I thought the information was relevant to the thread's title so maybe it would help someone else that was in the same situation as I was.
