Re: Sense 3.0 Lockscreen

Look how long windows mobile was around, and how many times did they upgrade windows mobile compared to what they have done for Android, have to remember that too.

Well I will agree with you that developing for windows mobile seemed easier, but all there are options for all the things you mentioned. There are variants for the lockscreen. SPB and regina launcher are now playing with 3d, and you must admit that 3d is fairly new so you may want to give that some time. Hotspot comes with the phone. If you want to use it option without a monthly fee then you will have to get rooted. I remember when I had my windows mobile phone, I had to unlock it to have the ability to tether. At the end of the day, you will have to root your phone if you want a longer relevant life for your phone.

Re: Sense 3.0 Lockscreen

I had to add 2 apps on my TP2 to get it to theather...maybe one of those apps was to unlock the phone who knows lol...but i kept getting my updates and everything was working fine if that was the case. I was very good at tweaking my windows phone. I had the Mogul, TP and TP2...and it just seemed easier...reading this stuff with Android have me nervous...like im going to brick my phone and thats why I stay away from it. I know about Unrevoke3 but it seems like its also an issue with something...like wifi dont wrk, or 4G signal not wokring...cant recieve updates...its always something..if it was easy like windows I would have been rooted

Re: Sense 3.0 Lockscreen

I agree that rooting seems like a great big task and it's hard, I went through the same thing, that's why I read about the process for like two weeks and watched lots of youtube videos before taking the plunge, but honestly it's not that bad and you are not going to mess your phone up, when you talk about flashing radios and stuff like that is when things can go bad.

I'm not trying to rush you into doing anything your not comfortable with doing, so just take your time and you'll root your phone when your ready. Lots of great roms with people in the threads that are willing to help out, all you have to do is ask and someone will point you in the right direction.

Do not accept the OTA update if you plan on rooting your phone, there are stock rooted roms that you can flash if you are just wanting the phone to be rooted but have the stock rom, once you take that OTA update there's no rooting right now.

Also just about any 2.2 Froyo rom is perfected right now, most people have moved on from those to the 2.3 GB and things are pretty solid with those, but there are still small issues with them, just look under htc evo 4g thread and you will find another thread with a link to all roms, 2.3, 2.2, and even 2.1 roms, go look around and see what catches your eye and flash that when you are ready, good luck.

Re: Sense 3.0 Lockscreen

Just giving an update...for the folks thats stock and want to get close to an Sense 3.0 Lockscreen...I would suggest Ripple Lock...very good not laggy app thats very close to Sene 3.0 Lockscreen. Can customize the quick apps just like sense and everything. Take look at it and let me know what you guys think. I love it!

x2 for the MikG Rom.

I miss how easy it was to mod a WinMo phone, but after you root an Android phone, it's cake. It takes some getting used to.

Re: Sense 3.0 Lockscreen

On WM you had to be unlock.. same as root for android. You cant add any new system files to WM without it being unlock...
