Re: Help Unrooting Evo. Don't know if Unrevoked was used to root.
How can this be removed or undone if I need to take my phone in for service?
Download the latest ''S-ON'' tool to a temporary location and follow the installation instructions above to run it. Once your phone is S-ON, you may lose root permanently if you install an official update http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/2018113-post130.html so run s-on tool then pc36 file Last edited by Karl; 06-17-2011 at 06:22 PM. |

Hey, okay so I'm downloading the 3.70 RUU and PC36IMG. How do I run the RUU on my phone if I do not have custom recovery? Should I just transfer the PC36IMG and then load it into HBOOT?

Okay, so I ran the exe. for the 3.70 RUU. Everything went fine, but after it finsihed I checked S and it was still S-OFF. I'm going to try putting that 3.70 PC36IMG on there and see if that does anything...

Nope, nothing. It doesn't even do anything in Bootloader. Just checks the PC36IMG and says wrong image blah blah blah and thats it. Still S-OFF. Wtf, I remember having to bring my other Evo into Sprint and switching it back to S-On and I did it in ONE NIGHT. Now its like a fucking mathematical equation I have to solve.
