Got mine in December. 004 hardware if that makes a difference and my screen looks good as new

I don't believe it has Gorilla Glass. Not for a second. I've broken TONS of these screens. Got 2 tiny scratches on a 3 week old one already.

My husband has had his Evo from the release date and has never had any problems with it not even a scratch and he has dropped it a lot. He got his Ballistic case a few months ago but he only uses it at work in case he drops it.

totally agree, got my evo just before i got epic and evo has "everyday" scratches on it plus epic has gorilla and it has a crazy looking purple tint to it in sunlight and evo dont.

I agree as well. I dropped mine from about 3 feet (back pocket) and even with a case the screen broke. It's not a really thick case but it does the job usually. No way this is Gorilla Glass. I also have had plenty of minor scratches from nowhere that IMO shouldn't gave happened

Hmmmm...well that certainly looks like a legit Corning website to me, and for them to call out Evo 4G specifically as having the Gorilla glass it does not make sense that it is not true. what would be in it for Corning? There is mention of an "available" coating though, which could explain the difference in appearance and/or durability of the Evo glass vs other Gorilla glass devices.

Personally I have had my Evo for about 7 months with no scratches, but obviously some folks are harder on equipment than others (or are unluckier...hence the phrase YMMV I guess). I constantly marvel at the posts I see here from folks that have had 3/4/5/or more replacements of a single device type! I never had to replace my Mogul, TP, or TP2.

of course it isnt but I was sitting down with my hand on my knee and it fell from there. I would think if it was gorilla glass it would be able to handle that short of a fall.

I have a few scratches in mine. By any chance do you never go outside? I take my phone everywhere I go whether I'm hiking or skiing, offroading, etc... I have a scratch that goes almost all the way across my screen and I got it taking the phone out of my pocket once.

so either they don't or gorilla glass is total crap.
