How to properly flash a rom?

i feel like a idiot for posting this, i am rooted and have been for a while. usually or i thought whenever you flash a rom it deletes everything off of your phone thats why you have to use titanium backup. anyways i flashed OMJ's latest rom and i wiped it both of the catch, and the other one (on the recovery mode) and for some reason my phone is running slow and battery is getting eattin up! did i forget a step somewhere?

try a different rom.

when you flash a rom, I would recommend using Amon Ra 2.3 to WIPE ALL before installing the rom of you choice in ZIP format...

If your phone is running slow, you might have flashed a bad kernel. If you flashed a kernel, try another one.
