Turning off EVO 2.3.3

Anyone know how to turn off your EVO? Since updating to GB I have the option to turn off and restart. When I select turn off the phone just goes into hibernate mode. Is this considered to be a power cycle?

Re: Turning off EVO 2.3.3

So your using the stock rom and not rooted and using a custom rom? I am using a custom 2.3.3 rom and when holding the power button i get multiple options, power off, hibernate, restart, hot reboot and so on. Maybe that's the way sprint has it set up i don't know since i don't have the stock rom, but i wouldn't think so, maybe pull your battery and restart the phone and then if it does it again factory reset it and if that doesn't work either call sprint and tell them or root the phone and run one of the many great GB roms that are out.

Re: Turning off EVO 2.3.3

I am using stock unrooted. With 2.3.3 it looks like thye have a fastboot but it appears that is what causes it to put in hibernate mode.

Yeah fastboot is a feature that when powering off your device just put its in a really low power state allowing it to power back up that much faster from a "cold" start.. I believe it can be turned off using the option available in settings>applications>fastboot option @ bottom
I personally dont like it as i would like my phone to completely power down I lost my 4-1 power option that allowed me to reboot into recovery and powering down and doing the key combo is the only way i can access it @ the moment but it sucked having to remove the battery first

Re: Turning off EVO 2.3.3

john, if you select reboot and wait for it to shut off, just hold volume down and it will boot into bootloader.

dacoz, if in settings>apps> fastboot, you UN-check it, your phone will shut off completely when you power off. When it is checked, it's in fastboot.

For stock un-rooted 2.3.3
