Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

I want to know why people want to buy nexus s or evo 3d and sign for 2 years contract if sprint is going downhill!
It is just a question!

Re: Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

For Nexus S:
A) DAT SCREEN! Super AMOLED, contoured/curved, antifingerprint coating
B) Hummingbird processor is supposed to have better graphics chip than the first gen Snapdragons, not too sure about the second gen.
C) Quicker official updates to newest versions of android straight from Google, vs. waiting for Sprint and manufacturer to update it
D) Sexy sleekness (IMO)

EVO 3D:
A) DAT SCREEN, qHD; oh the glorious pixels; 3D portion is more of a gimmick than truly functional for daily use.
B) Slightly higher mAh battery+less power hungry processor, though battery life is still questionable
C) Dual core Snapdragon (2.5/3rd gen I guess?), more efficient, definitely faster than EVO 4G
D) Cameras (5MP) are likely to be better quality than the 8MP on the EVO 4G since less pixels to be processed and newer generation phone (hopefully?)
E) More RAM... more is BETTERRRRR!

Why not to upgrade:
A) Still on contract... why extend contract when not needed...
B) I'm a poor college student =[
C) EVO 4G is still top tier in my book and will still be for a while. Still a benchmarking device and more than enough power to run all the apps on the market and to come(for now)
D) LTE might replace WiMax, so easily outdated tech =T

Re: Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

My guess is sprint gave up some dedicated contracts on lower populated areas since now FCC mandated that they can roam 3g/data as well..which means cheaper contracts...even if it turned into roaming you can roam 3g(notice on that chart it no ways 3g roaming..so effectively its same map same towers... your just roaming 3g..)..if they kick you off the network for roaming you got yourself a free pda and can sign a contract with another carrier..:/

Re: Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

one of the bigger reasons ill upgrade, is because I think most of the top tier developers are gonna move on to the newer devices also. that and I get nervous about older devices not getting software updates. I could be wrong though.

Re: Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

The reason why I want to pick up the Nexus 4G is because everything it has to offer. I've only been with sprint for 2 weeks now and will be returning the Evo 4G. Once I get the Nexus 4G ill be buying another Evo 4G online so I can play around with roms. Plus if I don't like using the nexus anymore and prefer to stick with the Evo. I can always sell the Nexus on ebay/craigslist for more then what I will be paying $199.

Re: Why do you want to upgrade to nexus s or evo 3d?

I am going to get the nexus with one upgrade I have available and the evo3d with another. I love the superamoled screen samsung uses and the contour of the phone is interesting while I love htc phones more than any other so I have to get the latest and greatest from them. I can't pass up the dual core processor.

Sprint Community: Very Slow 3g Data Speeds -- you too ?

Sprint Community: Voice and 3G coverage being drastically...

I tried to login to comment on the Sprint forums and I get, "An unexpected error occurs"... sheesh.
I think this is an e-ticket out of a contract for many if they wanted. Luckily I don't think my service was affected although I am more acutely aware of it now!

But we do have a network... I signed a 2 year contract earlier this year... Since I'm a gold member... I will get an upgrade early next year... I will get the EVO 3D unless something better comes out during the holidays or out of CES. The network is there and Verizon is there... As long as Sprint has roaming coverage on Verizon... I have better coverage than Verizon does... Where there's Verizon... There's Sprint. Not necessarily the other way around though.
Either way... If Sprint gets assimilated... I will get a new phone on whatever the new network is called.... In the mean time... Why worry about wha may or may not happen when and keep your old phone when you don't know what will or will not happen.

I agree with AZ. Hard to say Sprint has no network when we are all currently using it. Just go with the flow and stop worrying about would could happen.
