flashing????

i have an evo4g i want to flash to metro, i know i can pay to have it done but i want to learn to do it my self, i just dont know whare to start. i have had a htc dash i hacked to update, i had a g1 and learned about rooting.i know alittle about theesthings but i still need all the help and advise i can get. thank you

Hello I admire your ambition for doing it rather then paying, I was the same way thought it would be easy since I have flashed so many other devices other then phones. What I would recommend is pay to get it flashed, they back it up, and start your journey to understanding, learning how to flash. I am now learning how to flash custom ROMs and little more day by day. Had I not have just broke down had my phone flashed I would prolly still be trying to figure it out. If you still would rather learn on your own more power to you but im glad I had it done, and learning from trying out other custom ROMs and more. Well good luck to you!

search craigslist for someone who sells flashed phones contact them and ask them to meet you at starbucks or a local coffee house bring your laptop and phone ask him to show you. Thats what my cousin did when he wanted to learn to jailbreak his iphone. I was close to doing the same when I wanted to learn to root my evo.
