Weird Issue with Home Screen

I have a weird issue on my Evo when I go back to the home screen from any other screen...

First of all here are some details of my Evo.
Hardware version 0002 that I have had since the day the Evo was released.
Baseband 2.15.00.11.19
PRI 1.90_003
PRL 60677

It is rooted and I am running OMJ 4.6 with the kernal included with his rom. Although I have had this same problem with older OMJ roms and other roms I've tried (Mikfroyo, Deck's GB RCs). I have tried reflashing things multiple times with complete wipes between tries. Only thing I haven't tried was flashing an OEM Sprint rom back to the phone.

Now the details on my issue. Sometimes when I hit home button in an app it takes me back to the home screen, but theres nothing on it except for my wallpaper. The wall paper is always centered like it should be on the main home screen. If I hit the home screen again it gives me the zoomed out tab preview showing my tabs with everything on them like normal. I can either hit the home button again or the main tab and it goes to my home screen with everything on it like it should. It doesn't happen everytime I go back to my home screen, but its pretty frequent.

Also if I swipe the screen left or right when the home screen shows up blank it automatically takes me to the last tab on the right with my stuff on it. Doesn't matter if I swipe left or right it always goes to the last tab on the right. The wallpaper also jumps to where it should be on that tab. Then if I hit the home button it goes to my home screen like it should.

EDIT: It just happened again and I thought I should add that it still shows the info bar at the top and the Rosie bar at the bottom. I'm going to start noting the app I am in when it happens to see if it only happens in certain apps. I was using K9 mail at that time.

I'm at a loss and have pretty much been dealing with it for a few months now. It's very annoying. Has anyone else had this happen? Any way to fix it?

No one... lol. Kinda makes me feel special to have something no one else does.

Do you have a task killer or something similar? A few times I have used an app to free up memory. Immediately afterwards when I try to go to the home screen it behaves as you described.

Nope. No task killers. I only have a few apps installed since flashing OMJ's 4.6 a couple of days ago. I have tapatalk, acar, angry birds, K9 mail, and root explorer install. That's it except for what comes in OMJ's rom.
