Low Memory

I friend of mine has a rooted Evo running latest Fresh Rom. Although he only has a few apps (5-10) installed, his Evo is showing +/-45MB of space left on phone. I figured it might be a cache problem but my question is, if I reboot his phone into recovery and clear cache, what will that do to how his phone operates?.....or would it be better to just back everything up and just re-flash his phone? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Low Memory

Clearing the cache will help get rid of some of the excess crap. He can also get rid of some of the programs that he really does not use. Try moving some of the bigger programs to the sd card.

Re: Low Memory

I looked at moving apps to the SD card but he really didn't have much installed. 10-15 apps shouldn't reduce his phone storage by that much. I was more so trying to figure out what would happen if I wiped cache on his phone and rebooted it.

Re: Low Memory

I would do a NAND backup, then clear the cache. If he has any issues, he can do a NAND restore and be back up and running in mere minutes.
