evo recovery lost and dead sd card =(

i flashed the Destroyer Gingerbread ROM yesterday and everything was working fine until i unplugged my phone from the charger this morning before work.

i noticed my phone immediately restarted and now its stuck in a boot loop. the white EVO 4G screen just keeps coming up and i cant even get into recovery mode to do a nandroid restore!

i installed using Clockwork and wiping with Caulkin's Format All zip and installed per the instructions and it was working fine yesterday.

also, i think my SD card is dead too. i plugged it into a card reader and it wont read, but my spare 512mb one comes up fine. i dont know if the ROM had anything to do with the card dying, but the phone should still operate without a working SD card plugged in.

i cant get adb to work and fastboot wont detect my device. how can i fix this? my phone is currently a brick =(

info:
S-OFF (unrevoked forever)
HBOOT: 0.79

help is much much appreciated since i use my phone for work too

Re: evo recovery lost and dead sd card =(

I would suggest, if all else has failed to flash a stock rom with the RUU utility on a PC...

You can get them from Shipped ROMs .

There are a few threads about this at xda in the evo general section or q&a I believe. I would start there as this had been discussed in depth and I believe someone has found a solution.

Edit: I was truong to grab a link but xda is down for maintainence. I'll post out when xda comes back online

Re: evo recovery lost and dead sd card =(

I had the same thing happen to me with the Destroyer ROM. My SD had to be reformatted. After that I dl a sense ROM placed in the SD card and flashed it.

Re: evo recovery lost and dead sd card =(

If you snoop around, you can find a boot-loaded stock ROM. IOWs, it is wrapped in a PC36IMG wrapper. Pretty sure I have one but it is too big to email. Ask around XDA.

But you can clean up pretty thoroughly installing something like Sprint Lover's All in One. You will remain rooted (which ain't what's ailing you) and get back to ground zero to sort out your issues. You may want to reformat your SDCard along the way.

Wiping properly (like your Mom said) is always important before flashing. Good luck.
