Non-Compatible HDMI Tv's

Just recently purchased a 40" Dynex TV (which is Best Buy's brand) that came with 4 HDMI ports. None of them have fully worked with my HDMI ( full mirroring or stock). I Have now tried two different cables to no avail. I was ONCE able to get video, but no sound. Took it to Best Buy, had them try it out, worked perfectly. Went home for 2nd attempt, FAIL

. Bought another cable from Monoprice (thanks to you PPCG peeps), bought some compressed non moisture dust remover and tried that one out, 2ND FAIL

. Went back to Best Buy today and and tried my new cord on 4 other different TV's (Sharp, Sony, Toshiba, Insignia). Worked perfectly with all except the Insignia.

I Post this to say, in my recent trials, the HDMI is not Compatible with either Dynex or Insignia Brands. Just a warning for people having HDMI issues . Let me know if anyone else has other results.

Sucks to hear. Are you able to exchange your set or have you owned it too long already? I'm sure that using the hdmi out on the phone wasn't the lone reason to buy it but still, if you have the feature available I would want to be able to use it.

Exactly, taking it in tomorrow to see about different options and/or a fix. Not the Sole reason for my purchase but definitely a big one. One can almost cancel the need for a DVD player with the mirroring feature. Haven't had it too long so we'll see how it goes.

Good Luck getting it swapped or fixed. Best Buy is usually pretty good about issues like this.

I have a Panasonic LCD that doesnt work either. Ive tried directly to the set as well as through my Denon receiver with no luck yet the cable and phone work on my samsung

I have a 42inch JVC tv and I could never get my Evo to work with it. I called JVC and they tell me it is an issue with my phone and not the TV. I tried my phone out with the same cable with several other TV and worked fine.

Took my TV in today. Unfortunately I've had it for longer than 30 days, so they will not refund it. Crossing my fingers for a fix...
