Re: evo reboot problem

There is a known issue with some EVO's having frequent random power cycling (reboots). Their might not be a fix other than buying a new phone. Sorry but I had this problem with my forst EVO and nothing fixed it. Tried everything under the sun and ended up have it replaced under warranty. You don't have that luxury since you are not a Sprint customer so you might be sol on your EVO. Good luck.

Re: evo reboot problem

Experiment with some different kernels. The source of random reboots is often kernel related or power related. If you are overclocking or underclocking you phone stop. Since your flashed to a different provider that may be the problem. Try a different rom if you can.

Re: evo reboot problem

AGAIN... you have a bad phone folks. Sorry but kernel or rom flashing will not fix it.
All I can suggest is do a full wipe and see if it will stop rebooting.

Re: evo reboot problem

Well ... after having the same problem with my phone for the past several weeks, I returned it to stock and unrooted mine. It was rebooting continually after that. it wasn't an easy task to take back to stock in that condition, but I did it. It was still rebooting when the tech had it in his hand. He was stumped.

I returned to the Sprint store and had them look at it. He told me it's a known problem and was probably the system board. I exchanged my phone for a refurb for $35. I did freak out when it rebooted once I paired my BT, but has been fine ever since. It's been unrooted again (much easier this time) and a custom rom installed. It's working great.
