Text message question?

I just installed the handsent app which I think is great and alot better than the stock text message app. Now my only problem is that whenever I get a text message I get two notifications. Is there any way to disable the stock text message from notifying me. I just want the handsent notification to appear. Thanks in advance for any help.

go to stock sms app and turn off notification in menu/settings

Yeah, I also use Handcent and hate the double notifications. But KarlE is correct with his comment, just go to the stock app and in settings disable the notifications.
