Help! Wifi Tether Root Not working...

I just rooted my Evo and I have superuser permission and granted when I run the app. I have 2 versions installed one doesn't allow me to start tethering says I'm not rooted. But when i go to Universal Androot says I'm rooted. I'm running Froyo 2.2 and I can use everything else but the Wifi Tether. I also have a old app of the Wifi Tether which works and grants me access but it doesn't show up on any of my computers when I'm running the wifi. Any suggestions?

PS. I used Unrevoked easy to do my rooting. I also tried to install different roms with my Rom Downloader which worked and still no Tethering...

My brother had this issue. Delete your current wireless tether app and the .apk. Go get the latest version and reinstall. If this doesn't correct the issue, my brother said that he moved "an app" (sorry not sure which) to his SD card, and it stopped wireless tether from working, when he moved it back, wireless tether worked again. If you have moved any apps recently, move them back to the phone individually until the app works. This is all i got on the topic, sorry if none of this helps.

This definitely helped me out! It actually worked I removed the .apk from my SD card, and then un-installed the wifi tether app and then reinstalled from the market and NOW I'M BACK! Thanks!!!! Anyone who has this problem should removed and re-install from the market!

How funny, in order to get this stealth wifi tether to work i though it had to be flashed either seperatly or come with the custom rom, thats the only reason why i flashed over to a custom, however i found out after rooting my buddies heauwi ascend that you can go to the market place and download this app called barnacle wifi tether and install.oh and disable the skip wpa_supplicant in the app settings.

oh and btw i had tried barnacle wifi tether when he was temperary rooted and barnacle said the phone needs to be rooted then i permanently rooted it started barnacle wifi tether and walah instant access. I think that revoked is the same thing they have a temp root and a fully root option to download. That might keep you from getting the job done son.
