What Rom are you using and (briefly) why

I have been seeing a lot of ppl that are new to the EVO wanting Rom recommendations. Hopefully this can help. I'll start

I'm running the new virus infection. It's aosp. I love it because of the speed and it has some sense elements to it. I have a hidden taskbar and have the app shortcuts on the app drawer (which slides) for a clean look. Combined with overclockwidget and sbc kernel, I get a full day with hard use on the stock battery. And I still have 4g and all my cams work

Cooler than your EVO

Re: What Rom are you using and (briefly) why

I'm on Sprint Lovers ROM. Simply because everything works right out of the box plus ALL of the tweaks and mods are already included. It looks and feels stock and I don't have to add or remove theme elements like I do with some other ROMS. Flash it and forget about it... I like it!

Re: What Rom are you using and (briefly) why

I have flashed just about all of the 2.2 and 2.3 roms from the database.
sense based I like Fresh, AVA, Ricsim ROM's

I like the way MikFroyo optimizes his ROM's so im running one of his ODEX betas he is about to mod. i like a clean bare close to stock fully functional ROM.

I also like the gingerbreads light clean and snappy but not fully functional (CM7 pretty close but still buggy). so Ill wait on that.

Calkulin's rom (1.7.7 I believe, haven't updated in a while); quite stable, although missing the function of the search button =T
I also get decent battery life from it.

Fresh, just like stock minus all crap. Very solid.

Sprint Lovers with Netarchy toastmod 4.2 SBC CFS more HAVS aggressive kernel.

I like that it's as near stock as you can get while still being way better in terms of performance and battery life.

Re: What Rom are you using and (briefly) why

I used the VirusROM InfectioN base and with a little help of dsixda's Android kitchen, I am running a wicked fast version of his ROM. All my apps are pre-installed, custom notification bar and taskbar done just the way I like them (I never leave the clock, GPS icon or battery icon on the taskbar) and all with his Senseless goodness.

Add to it Netarchy's SBC -net-4.1.9.1-more-havs-v7 kernel and it screams with more than 24 hours of moderate to heavy usage on a single charge. Speed, performance, battery life... for me it's a no brainer.

Copy cat! I would have thought you were on your own Rom. Goes to show how open minded everyone is here

With work, family and life in general, I just don't have the time to create my own ROM from scratch. And since I despise HTC Sense, and tend to only try the Sense free ROMs, I just find one that runs good and then hook it up the way I like it.

Maybe someday, when I have more free time, I will create my own custom ROM from the latest stock base. But until then, I'm all about saving myself some time

Re: What Rom are you using and (briefly) why

I've only used Fresh Rom. New to Android and I like custom stock roms. I tried Sprint Lovers for about 20 mins lol. There were a few things that I didn't care for and I didn't give it a real chance since I was away from home and had a lot of things going on.

I will give it another shot but so far, I'm complacent with what I have.

If it ain't brok then don't try to fix it is where I'm at right now
