EVO not recognized

Hello all,

I rooted my Evo using unrevoked, and have since did a system recovery on my PC (running Windows 7)...now when I plug my phone in, my PC doesn't recognize it, I get the message below:

"USB Device is not recognized and Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Do I need to go through the HBoot process again to load the Android USB Driver? If so, will I mess up the phone at all by doing that.

Thanks in advance!

Re: EVO not recognized

I've tried Charge Only, Disk Drive, and HTC Sync.

I'm getting this error on two different computers, one with Windows 7 and one with XP.

I don't have a spare HTC USB cable to see if it's the cable yet.

I tried installing the USB Drivers from unrevokeds site but it wouldn't work.

The phone charges while plugged into the USB, but that's it.

Re: EVO not recognized

It is not a PC issue. I believe you have a bad cable.
It takes 3 wires to change and 5 to transger data. Even without HTC installed, you should have seen your phone appear as an additional drive. Your phone is basically acting like mine when I use the non-data USB cable.

Re: EVO not recognized

Thanks Ikillen, kinda surprising since I've only had the phone for about a month now and it was working fine up until last week. I'll pick up a cable once I'm near a Sprint store.
