help a n00b, wired tether

Rooted my Evo, wireless tether works fine. Downloaded the wired tether apk. Downloaded HTC Sync. ut for some reason I can't get it to work and I'm hearing the wired tether is faster than wifi.

Can somebody walk me through it please?

Re: help a n00b, wired tether

just flash the the usb wired tether hack: [ Mods ][ 12-21 ] Calkulin's Mods & Fixes [Unlocked Tether l MMS Resize l Reboot Mod] - xda-developers

then whenever you plug the phone into usb the 'diskdrive/charge only/usb tether' options should pop up and press usb tether

if you dont know how to flash a zip then you might have to search the forum for those instructions

Re: help a n00b, wired tether

You are probably missing this.

Issue 21 - android-wired-tether - HTC Evo 4G workaround: Two commands, can they be added to the program? - Project Hosting on Google Code

Edit: Now that I think about it....this probably won't help unless you are running older software (from like August...can't remember the version). Now I use the built in tether for 3G.

Now if you want to tether using 4G then you have to use android wired tether.
