EVO - HTC Sync - calendar reminder problem

Hello,
I synced my outlook calendar with the EVO using HTC Sync. I have the holiday calendars imported into outlook, so holidays like Martin Luthor King day are marked in outlook as an annually recurring all-day event (but they do not have a reminder in oulook)

It seemed to sync to my EVO without a problem.

Fast forward to today (Martin Luthor King day) - at midnight (last night/this morning), my phone beeped, and the screen lit up and I woke up and found the reminder for MLK day on the lock screen. (note that this does not have a reminder on outlook on my PC)

I have a lot of annual events (like birthdays/anniversary etc) in outlook as all-day events - does this mean that the reminder will go off every time an event comes up?? How do I prevent this from happening?

I opened my calendar on my EVO and tried to find the reminder on the event series - there is no reminder field there!!!

(My calendar is not synced with gmail - but contacts are)

I had a somewhat similar error.

I had an appt that had to be resheduled.

I moved out a couple days.

But the reminder went off 18hr's before the appt.
