It seems like you had your priviledges reset with ChMod 777 while you were rooted and you will be able to do "root" likie things. But you won't be able to flash anything from recovery. Actually, I don't think you can get into Recovery. You are in an indeterminate state.

Can you see phone memory with a tool like Root Explorer (memory other than your SDCard)?

Whatever the case, my first rule is to get to a known place. Since it is now a click to root the latestest release, my recommendation stands.

DOWNLOAD
MIRROR
[All-In-One Update, INCLUDES Updated Baseband & Wimax Radios + PRI 1.90_003, Uninstallable apps]

this file will replace the other pc36img.zip i had you install before

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: (For "All-In-One" update)
-Copy the PC36IMG.zip to the root of your SD Card
-Power off your phone
-While holding the VOLUME DOWN button, power on the phone
-Your phone will enter bootloader and automatically scan the file and prompt you to update
-Press VOLUME UP the install the update
-When completed, press VOLUME UP to reboot the phone

this file has all the update radios

Hey,

I followed this method and it seemed to work fine. However, when I ran my nand backup, it put me back to 3.29, but my PRI stayed at the 1.90. Can you let me know if I am doing something wrong?

-Jeff

Apparently that was the backup you had.

Why not just install Sprint Lover's "All In One" and put this mess behind you? One there, do a good Nandroid Back up and then think about exploring the Rom universe.

Interesting, I will have to look into that. I have not had any roms on my Evo yet, but had plenty on my hero. Thanks for the advice.
