[Q] New Recovery required for HBOOT 2.02?

It is required to update recovery using the newer 2.02 HBOOT? I am still on RA 1.80.

If you are able to do nand backups and restore them, flash roms with no problem then no need to switch, if your having problems then switch. By the way Aman RA just released 2.1.1 version so go ahead and upgrade.

Both Aman Ra and Clockwork have been updated to handle these concerns aman ra 2.1.1 and clockworkmod 2.6.0.1 or 3.0.0.5 depending if your running froyo or gingerbread based rom.

ClockworkMod is still given trouble. Though Kouch is a great developer, Amon seems to have the recovery thing right. You can put this on any EVO.

I wrapped it up in a PC36IMG.zip package so it could be flashed with HBoot.

There is no HTC Gingerbread for EVO, as of yet. There is a hacked version from another phone (Epic) but it is Alpha.
