Libreville !!!!

Just got an EVO for Christmas and since day one this phone for no known reason will default the time and weather or sometimes just one or the other from my home (Memphis, TN) to Libreville West Africa. Have done all the basics; update PRL, profile, firmware, htc software, removed battery, had sprint do their thing over the air and this problem will go away for no reason and then come back for no reason. Very intermittent, have no weird apps installed. Have never even heard of Libreville b4 let alone set it as a location option. Tried location setting as automatic and not automatic with central time zone selected. Phone not rooted, have the latest software and hboot. Going to take to repair store 2morrow and hopefully get a new phone. ????????

That's really strange, the phone gets your weather and time from your location and network. Based on tower and GPS data. I live in Memphis also and have never seen that. What part of Memphis? Maybe a tower near you is messed up.

Bartlett. My daughter's evo doesn't do this.

This is a Sprint fluke. I am in Atlanta and three times this week, my switched to Mountain time. I told a friend with an EVO and she looked at her phone and it was Mountain time too. Sprint might be getting hacked.

Have you hard reset the phone? You may already have tried it but it worked for me. I got my wife one for christmas and hers too was giving us some place called Lima? After 2 hard resets everything was back to normal.

Did the Sprint techs have you do a hard reset?? That is probably what you need, also go to menu/settings/system updates and do a profile update & PRL update, this may save the need for a hard reset.

I live just east of you between Bartlett & Lakeland right off 70.

Did the profile and prl updates with no help, then driving into work it finally realized i was in the US and not africa. Never lose signal or 3g at home but maybe something about that location. Did not hard reset have a feeling that is what the repair store will do and then say "it's good". Not sure how to do a hard reset, will have to research it. One time with my tp2 i somehow got put onto cricket instead of sprint after doing the updates phone got back on sprint and that also happened in Bartlett.

Hard reset: Menu/Settings/SD & phone storage/Factory data reset.

If it happens again, just move to Africa.
