Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

I followed KarlE's link to the stock shipped RUU's and IMG's. Can I simply copy the zip file in the second link to my SD card and then use HBOOT? Here is the file I downloaded:
Code:
PC36IMG_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.70.651.1_Radio_2 .15.00.11.19_NV_1.90_release_161482_signed.zip

If by that you mean selecting RECOVERY from the HBOOT menu, then no, I don't think so. Doing this simply soft resets the device, which leads to hanging on the initial splash screen.

The PC36IMG's that I have used have all resulted in either hanging on splash, or the screen with the little icon of the phone and /!\ in red.

I have yet to try the shipped PC36IMG's from KarlE's link.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

I just attempted to use the stock/shipped PC36IMG from KarlE's post over at xda. It was halfway through the RADIO step when the screen turned off, and after I picked my eyeballs back up off the floor I read a message saying that my battery voltage was too low. I will charge it to full and try again.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

You are not Rooted until S=Off. You must work with a Signed RUU. I am not sure why you can't flash from your PC. Are you getting Error 177 (USB thing)

Try re-installing HTC_SYNC and running the RUU. Let us get you back to stock before anything else.

I will be out of pocket for the next 9 hrs but will check in when I get home. There are some real sharp cookies over at XDA so stay active there.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

One more thing, I kept having problems with installing the RUU from the PC and it turned out to be my USB cable. It worked for simple things but would spike the connection while trying to run the RUU.

Re: Unable to boot EVO, unable to connect to PC for RUU

I wasn't using the RUU because I don't really know how to get the device to connect to the PC without running android. I flashed the stock ROM via the SD card and all appears to be back to square 1. Thanks again to everyone froyo help (no pun intended .

When the battery is finished charging I am going to try the Auto Root from XDA. I'll let you know how it goes.
