New OTA fixes .wav issue!

All,

The issue of listening to specific wav files has been resolved in this latest update. I can now listen to my uverse voicemails again with the default music player. Enjoy!

Cool. I actually downloaded (and payed for) an app to do this for my exchange voicemails, called Remote Wave.

No, my OS is not rooted or modified. I have no interest in those modifications at this time. I've waited months for HTC/Sprint to resolve this issue and knew they would based off a Sprint Employee forum comment months ago.

To change the topic, I am using the Google CR-48 laptop that Google sent me to type this post. It will be a Merry X-Mas indeed!

Once you root, it is hard to turn back. The EVO is your oyster. It is more than just tethering, which I rarely do. It is about exploring new ROMs and other life forms. I also like to look deep into the bowels of my phone and see what makes it tick.

Actually, if I was not rooted, I can't imagine spending much time in this forum. This is Root-City. And you will Root. Everyone does, sooner or later.

It's basically a net book with Chrome Browser running as the OS. Nothing earth shattering for me since Chrome is my default browser and I have the EVO. I applied about 3-5 days ago and it just popped up on my door step along with gifts I ordered from Amazon. I had no clue what it was. My face lit up like a kid on X-Mas day when I opened it up.

Interesting. What applications can I not utilize now that I could if I was rooted? At this point in time, I don't care how the EVO ticks, I may one day if I start developing applications for it. Other than that, I just want stability, security and functionality.

Well to start there are backup programs (titanium), most importantly loading custom roms (stock is good but custom is better), theming, all the little tweaks most custom roms have (battery tweaks, etc), setcpu (i don't use it anymore but helps a lot of people), to list a few things. Its liberating.
