Any other way to update software apart from ota?

I am trying to root using the "universal auto root" link you posted above. When i am going tthrough the first phase, at the bootloader where it try to find the PC36IMG....the phone is not able to find it....and when i look at the SD card its actually there in the card....not sure what going...any help is appreciated

A couple of things.
You are using the correct pc36img for the software you presently have installed?
You did rename the file to pc36img.zip?
