Can't install AMON RA recovery

Used ROM Manager's Alternate Recovery. It seemed really fast. Then I tried to boot into recovery to do a NANDROID B/U and when I select recovery, it just boots up.

Tried several times and then I restored Clockwork and was able to boot into that recovery.

Any ideas?

Do you have a hardware 0004 EVO? From my experience with Rom Manager, you must first flash Clockwork mod Recovery from within Rom Manager even if you already have Clockwork mod Recovery. Then once you do that, go back into rom Manager and flash the alternative Recovery which is RA recovery. BUUUUT, if you have hardware version 0004 then that version of RA Recovery is not compatible and you will run into problems. You may know this already I don't know... If you flashed RA or Clockwork over your rooted 0004 EVO, I would expect you might be having problems with both of them not being compatible.

But if you have a hardware 0002 or 0003 EVO, then simply use rom manager to reinstall clockwork mod, reboot, then go back into rom manager and flash the alternate recovery RA. Reboot again. That should fix you up. good luck.

Forgot about clockwork and ROM manager, too many issues, and doing it things through bootloader and recovery is more reliable and almost as easy

I got it. Did it again from Rom Manager and this time it showed up. May have always been there. But it just wasn't coming up when I tried to load it. All it wqorking well and I am on Azrael now.
