i need help real bad with my EVO 4G

i got an HTC EVO 4G from sprint on november 26th. i tried to unlock the phone using unrEVOked and now my phone wont boot up. i get the same red triangle no matter what. Dumb me, i didnt back up the original factory reset files and i wiped the SD card and started putting the new ROMs on. this is the first time ive ever unlocked a CDMA phone so im sure i screwed up (obviously). can anyone help me at all? i would like it really badly if someone can run me thru this on Yahoo msgr or skype or msn. i can tell you from start what i have and the errors i get.

it also says when it is running the modified ROM that i got that it 'CAN NOT ROLL BACK HBOOT VERSION'

my understanding is that unrevoked will not root HBOOT-2.02.0000, you should have followed this thread...

OMJ is right about 2.02 hboot, you will need to be careful with post on XDA it could brick phone if you do not follow instruction. I use OMJ rom its the best/

ok so i clicked your link after i got super happy, and the link wont load. it pops up a whole shit ton of unrecognized computer code that i believe to be c++. if at all possible, can you send me the zip file over skype or in an email or something. and will this unlock thephone cause im eager to cancel sprint and go verizon.

i got it, mozilla wasnt helping, had to use IE with no add-ons. ill try this method and let you know what i come up with.

Right-click and Save Target.


if it is not named PC36IMG.zip, rename it to that. (case sensitive)
You know what you are doing now? Just get the file on your SD card, probably have to mount the card on you PC. Install card in phone.

Hold the power button down and select Power Off. Then hold the Vol down button and press the power button. When you go into HBoot, it will see the PC36IMG.zip and ask to install it. Vol up is yes. This flash will take close to 10 minutes. Relax and watch it. When done, it will ask if it should re-boot. Select yes.

Boot up takes a few minmutes so don't panic.

hey guys i ran into the same problem so i followed your instructions but when i go to hboot it says its its loading then no image is found. what should i do?

DO WHAT LKILLEN SAID. i had to rename the file to PC36IMG then boot up in what i call 'safe mode' and then run the update and BAM, factory condition.

NOW: i need help running through this to UNLOCK the phone so i can use it on a different carrier. what programs and such do i need to download and what process do i run this shit all in. i used the thread link that told me how to unlock that OMJ posted but its telling me to use unrEVOked, and all i have to say is f*** that. unrEVOked is what screwed me up in the first place. that and i probably was using programs and such that were outdated.

also, thank you OMJ, i was about to freak out if i just sabotaged a $600 phone. it boots up fine and i can use it now, its just not unlocked... yet...

If you follow exactly what it tell you to do then there shouldn't be no problem. I first try was not successful, I than carefully read word by word and try again and it work.
