APKs save as bin files

Hey guys, anyone know why every time I download and save apk files the pop up always asks to save them as .bin files and then I can't install them. Any guesses?

No, but I believe after you save it you can use a file explorere like astro and rename the file to a .apk

Hey I have astro and have tried changing the name to apk but it just says can't parse install package.
